ZOMG another viral marketing post.

The creative brains at Wario Land came up with this ad. It’s a Youtube video that shows the Wario Land gameplay on Wii and the video is so awesome that it breaks Youtube.

Update: Woops forgot to link! Check it out here

P/S: Replay the video again and again (without refreshing) to break YouTube even more.

Technology today is awesome.

So this swiss dude Yves Rossy is a pilot, inventor and daredevil. He created this Jet engine powered wing strapped to his back and he is also the first person to fly it (or dared to fly it).

Today (Sept26th) the bugger leapt off the back of a transport airplane and flew across the english channel. He travels at speeds of up to 100knots. THats just crazy and totally amazing at the same time. Watch the video to fully appreciate. ha ha.

Ponoko, a startup based in New Zealand (woot, ive never written about startups from kiwiland before), has come up with a way for everyone to turn that drawing of a flower, tribal design, whatever, into an actual 3D ojbect with Height and Depth and all that.

All you need to do is

1. Login to your Ponoko Account - upload your the picture of your drawing/design. Take a look at the example below, Ponokos software automatically scans and reads your design.

*This is not a video*

2.  Choose the Materialand Color that you like, they all cost different, and pay for shipping.

3.  Ponoko machinery will carve out the 3D object according to your design and ship it to you.

Check out the actual Video here. I would have embedded it if the guys in Ponoko would have just used an external platform (*rolls eyes)

Project 10100  (pronounced 10 to the 100) is a call for ideas to change the world by helping as many people as possible. Knowingly or Unknowingly, venture capitalist and blogger Paul Graham may have given a few startups a heads up a couple of months ago while presenting for startup school ‘08. Read my post on that here.

There a couple more videos where that came from, if you’re curious google up “omnisio”, a youtube-like startup (who have been aquired by YouTube) focusing on stage presentations combining both video and presentation slides like you see below.  Anyway onwards to Project 10 to the 100!

In Google’s own words, here are the terms and conditions

1. Send us your idea by October 20th. (i am assuming of this year 2008) hehe
Simply fill out the submission form giving us the gist of your idea. You can supplement your proposal with a 30-second video.

2. Voting on ideas begins on January 27th.
We’ll post a selection of one hundred ideas and ask you, the public, to choose twenty semi-finalists. Then an advisory board will select up to five final ideas. Send me a reminder to vote.

3. We’ll help bring these ideas to life.
We’re committing $10 million to implement these projects.

A collection of 20 web2.0 startup companies have set up 3 day interview sessions in Boulder, CO. They will fly you in, all expenses paid trip for 3 days. That is an amazing idea.

I truly believe that recruiting talent is core to the success of any startup. In order to recruit the very very best, working for a startup should not portray an image of 3 dudes in a garage. The group in Boulder (i believe these guys come out of Techstars, an ideas stage funding program), are taking a step in the right direction by promoting themselves differently. The search for talent is not easy, I’m sure some of the guys ive interviewed would agree :)

It takes a special character to want to be a part of a startup, what with all the uncertainties ahead, both financially as well as personally. So i’m really inspired by the choices some of these guys have made.

It’ll all over the Channel 3 News in Washington!

Who is this blogger ?! Tham Keng … waitaminute.

Welcome to the latest (actually its about a month old) in viral marketing for a company called Paytalk, whose product you see being used, alledgedly to vote the blogger Tham Keng Yew, into congress, or as a presidential candidate. Enjoy.

Personally, I think Tim is awesome at what he does. He writes very well and is a total Guru at the art of teambuilding and motivation. Much respect. :)

Live & Inspire also picked up one of my earlier posts “What is Web2.0″ available here and I will be contributing as a collumnist in my capacity as the guy behind www.socialtalkr.com where i interview startup company Founders & CEOs, and document their journey from Idea to an actual business.

10 years after Google first launched as a search engine out of Stanford, this dude made a Video to describe exactly what he did for Larry and Sergei.

He claims to have been involved in the design of the Google search engine (Pagerank) as well as the business model that brought Google to the top (adsense and adwords). He stopped working on the google project to continue his PhD. As a result of that, his name never got printed on the paper for developing Pagerank.

I have no idea if this story is true, but lets assume it is. What then is his intention speaking out NOW, 10 years later? He claims to have approached Google in 2002 and was brushed off by Google reps (but not directly by Larry and Sergei). If he’s staking a claim on a billion dollar company..i’m pretty sure Google’s lawyers will have alot to say and will be discrediting this dude to kingdom come.

Anyway heres the video
